In 2022 I got serious about my fitness And went from 212 pounds down to 175 Reducing My overall body fat by 10 Percent now still got a long way to go But today I wanted to share with you one Of the cool things I learned while Working very hard every day to put Myself into a calorie deficit and what I Learned is that mowing the lawn is Actually really good exercise and burns A lot more calories than you might think So to set a baseline for you when I do Cardio like here at the gym I typically Use an elliptical machine and I'll do on Average about 30 minutes on that machine And that's going to burn somewhere Between 350 and 400 calories for context Here's a day when I did 41 minutes and I Got it up to 460 calories now that was Pushing it pretty hard average heart Rate during that workout 140 beats per Minute so just keep in mind a good Elliptical workout for me is between 30 And 40 minutes and it's going to burn a Good 350 to 400 calories so how many Calories do you actually burn when Mowing the lawn let's find out now for Me I like a leisurely enjoy Mojo with a Self-propelled mower and what that means Is I'm essentially just walking behind It and steering with no hard pushing now At my house a mow like that takes around 45 minutes and burns up to 330 calories Now keep in mind this is just the mowing

No weed whacking no edging no blowing Just the mow bro Burns 330 calories in About 45 minutes I recently got to mow The lawn for a friend of mine and it's a Smaller lawn but has more bumps than Obstacles and since it's so small I Still wanted to get in a good workout so I turned this one into what I call a Full contact mow working hard to get my Heart rate up as I navigate a Strange Land Now that Mill only took 27 minutes but Still managed to melt off 266 calories You can even see here where things got Heated up pretty good for me as I filmed The loading of the mower into the back Of my truck I had planned to do a video Showing a safe way to load in and load Out and I had to get multiple takes from Multiple angles meaning I loaded the Mower in and out several times you can See the heat map shows it So what have we learned here mowing the Lawn is good exercise 45 minutes to burn Up to 330 calories or even 27 minutes to Burn 266 is a great way to get a second Workout in a few days a week If you take my advice and mow your lawn Every two to three days for the health Of the turf imagine the additional Benefits you'll get too so like I've Always said The more you mow the Healthier you and your lawn will grow With that I'm Alan Hayden the lawn care
