Ryobi 18V lawn mower review – Why I bought it and unboxing – Australia

Despite the winter time the lawn was overdue for a cut and I had to make a decision on a mower.

Was it time to go battery?

At last yes! I have had petrol mower, the classic lawn keeper back in the day, noisy – you bet. The last petrol mower that I bought did not even start when I purchased it, but a carby clean and off she went. I think I sold it for more than I paid for it!

I have also had a corded Ozito electric mower – not the greatest, but it did the job. The cord always got in the way.

So what to do, will the battery mowers cut it – literally?

Well, yes it turns out. Additionally, they are about the the same price as a petrol mower, heaps lighter and really really quiet – so no longer the worry to do the lawns early on a Sunday. The neighbours will thank you.

What’s more, if you are a Ryobi 1 user for other tools, drills and saws, then you already have additional batteries, chargers, etc.

I got mine from Bunnings:
